    The present system of things is built on the concept of mistrust and dishonesty. Here is my take on a better system of things built on the concept of trust and honesty:

    Lend without interest your time to solve a problem for a trusted associate, lend what you don’t use or need on the promise of returning the favour from a neighbour you have found respect for;

    Never be afraid to ask to borrow from another something you really need for as long as you actually need it with the promise to return the favour; and

    If you really think about it, what you trade is trust and the more people within your circle of friends, relatives and associates that you have demonstrated your honesty and generosity too, the less likely you will find yourself between a rock and hard place.

    I have a very nice Winnebago motorhome you can borrow, what can you promise me in return, and who might know each of us so well as to say we are both trustworthy for we will call that person our friend.
