It has been reported that more than 30,000 parents in Australia have registered a ‘conscientious objection’ to having their children vaccinated, up from 4271 ‘conscientious objections’ in 1999.
For parents in Australia wanting to avoid having their children vaccinated and wanting to avoid financial penalties, lodging an Immunization Exemption Conscientious Objection Form is the only means by which the federal government allows parents to make the decision to not have their children vaccinated.
These figures support the claims made by the anti-vaccine movement and relevant lobby groups that Australian’s are waking up to the dangers of vaccines. In fact, In 2010 it was also reported that 26,000 children had been excluded from the Australian Governments national immunization program.
In response to these figures, pro-vaccination lobbyists have coincidentally released a 20 page handbook designed to convince parents of the benefits of vaccinating their children and the notion that there are no risks associated with any vaccines.
When addressing the issue of vaccine safety, the report states that “The great majority of side effects that follow vaccinations are minor and short-lived”. The report attempts to manipulate the readers from any real concerns about the risks of vaccinations.
However, these claims are contradictory to the many studies that dispel the myth that vaccines are safe:
THE above three studies are just the tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds and hundreds of other peer reviews articles and publications that also link vaccines to autism and other chronic diseases.
Pro-vaccination lobbyists have been unable to pinpoint the exact reason why parents are waking up to the dangers of vaccinations and are only capable of throwing around statements of “lies” and “disinformation” as reasons why parents are waking up to their agenda.
Unfortunately, when it comes down to public policy making, pro-vaccination lobbyists are heavily influential.
Australians and the world must be made aware of the real dangers of vaccinations, not just the benefits.
For a list of 10 reasons why parents should not get their children vaccinated, I recommend this article published by the Australian Vaccination Network. The Immunization exemption form that parents from Australia can use to exempt their children from government sponsored vaccinations can be downloaded here.
